Joan T. Cruger was born to Eleanor O'Brien and William Cruger on January 11, 1928 in Manhattan, NY. She married Eugene T. Murphy in 1946 and they resided in the Bronx until they moved to Lake Lucille in New City, NY in 1994 where they loved to watch their grandchildren and great grandchildren play by the lake. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Eugene T. Murphy and by her sister Eleanor Dettling. She is survived by her sister Margaret McDevitt, son Stephen T. Murphy Sr. (Joan), her daughter
Janet M. Murphy-Stallone (John) and her son William M. Murphy (Lee); her grandchildren Stephen Murphy Jr., Robert Murphy (Gretchen), Jeannie Lester (Mark), Shannon Murphy-Mills (Keno), Kimberly Murphy, Matthew Murphy, Joseph Murphy and Michael Murphy and by her great-grandchildren Veronica Murphy, Shaun Murphy, Devin Murphy, Nicholas Murphy, Gianna Murphy, Mark Lester Jr. and Alexa Lester along with many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive visitors on Sunday from 7-9pm and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
