Joan Marjorie Fortini Resnick of New City passed away November 11, 2012 at Rockleigh Jewish Home. Born on October 27, 1926 in Mount Vernon, New York, Joan had just celebrated her 86th birthday with family, was deeply loved and will be forever missed by her family and friends.
Joan, predeceased by her husband Eli, is survived by her daughters Alexa Ruth (wife of Peter M. Dove), Laurie Jill (wife of Joseph Brownstein), Susan Miranda (girlfriend of Joseph Palesado, Bruce Springsteen and New York Mets Broadcaster Keith Hernandez), son David Jonathan (husband of Gina Antolino), grandchildren Alison Joan (Rob Curcio), Jason Peter (Laurie), Chloe Dannah (Jonathan Short), Emma Natasha, Caroline Page, Zachary David and great grandchildren Alexandra, Giovanna, Lyla and Lucas. As a wise family member noted Sunday, Joan lived to see her grandchildren’s children- a blessing indeed.
A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 1pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service, New City. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice in support of the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
