John F. Mcginn

John F. McGinn passed away on March 16, 2011 with his family by his side. John has been a New City resident for 48 years prior to the Parkchester part of the Bronx. He was born to John and Anne McGinn on December 4, 1926 in the Bronx, NY. He was a graduate of Our Lady of Victory attended Cardinal Hayes High School and graduated from St. John's College and Law School in 1955. John served in World War II for 2 years in Africa & Germany. John married Rosemary in 1954 at St. Helena's Church in the Bronx. John was a Vice President of Irving Trust for over 30 years. He was a member of the West Nyack Seniors and West Nyack Senior I clubs, an avid Giant and Norte Dame Fan, enjoyed playing golf and had a great love of horses. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Rosemary, four daughters Marianne Lumley, Rosemary and Alphonse Mauro, Kathleen McGinn, and Patricia and James Felton. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Rita and Frank Morris of Arizona and Mary McGinn of Chicago and his brother predeceased him. Family will receive friends today Friday 2-4 and 7-9PM at Higgins Funeral Home New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday 10:15AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church West Nyack, NY. Interment to follow at Fred Loescher Veteran Cemetery New Hempstead, NY.
