Joseph A. Trapani of New City passed away on August 23rd with his loving family by his side. Joe was born in New York City on February 17, 1932 to John and Florence Trapani. Joe graduated from Columbus High School in the Bronx and attended La Guardia Aeronautical School. He was then called into the U.S. Army and served as a medic. Joe was employed by the Clarkstown School District for many years retiring in 1996.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Charlotte (nee Fitzpatrick); his wonderful children, John and wife Clarissa of Greenwood Lake, and daughter, Cathy and husband Raymond of Goshen; and his adored grandchildren, Kevin, Alexa, Tiffany and Michael, who is waiting for him at Heaven's Gate. Joseph is also survived by his sister, Marie Piraneo of Arizona, his favorite niece, Jo-Jo, and nephews, Anthony and Vincent.
Visiting for Joseph will be held at the Higgins Funeral Home in New City today from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday 11am at St. Augustine's Church on Main Street in New City, followed by burial at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
