Katherine Tennyson

Katherine was a woman of great strength, resilience, and compassion. These qualities enabled her to succeed as a registered nurse. Her dedication to patients, her kindness, and quick thinking have made a profound impact on those around her. This care extended not only to patients but also to all her beloved family and friends. Katherine has always been a pillar of strength, shouldering the profound responsibility to support her family for decades.

On May 1st ,1974, Katherine united in marriage with her first love, Payyoor Tennyson, in a heartfelt ceremony in India. The couple soon embarked on a new chapter, relocating to the United States and settling in New York, where they built a life filled with companionship. Together, they navigated life’s challenges and celebrated its joys until Payyoor’s passing on April 7, 2020.

Though Katherine did not have children of her own, her warm and loving nature endeared her to a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who regarded her as a second mother. Now, Katherine can finally find eternal peace, reuniting with her beloved husband and siblings in heaven. Her legacy of love and service will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

A wake will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and the funeral will be held the following day on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 9:00 AM. Both events will occur at Higgins Funeral Home. Following the funeral, the internment will be at 11:30 AM at Rockland Cemetery, 201 Kings Hwy, Sparkhill, NY 10976.
