Born in Brooklyn on Feb. 13, 1962, Keith grew up in the city and lived throughout Rockland County, along with pit stops in Florida and New Jersey. Keith held multiple gigs throughout his life, and he especially enjoyed his time overseeing The Sports Place. However, no job – outside of parenting – meant more to him than coaching. A longtime baseball and softball coach, he spent his final days surrounded by his immediate and extended family, a collection of people that included his loving children, adoring wife, caring mother and brother, numerous relatives and friends, and a long list of former Rockland Wildcats players who wanted to express their appreciation for him.
Keith is survived by his wife, Elyse; children, Gary and Lacey; future daughter-in- law, Aimee; mother, Anneleen; brother, Steven, and his wife, Marie; nieces, Toni and Raffaella; cousins, Michael, Risa, Brian and Jonathan; mother-in-law, Lorraine; brother-in-law, Larry, and his wife, Karen.
Keith’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, Jan. 19, at Higgins Funeral Home (321 S Main Street, New City, NY). There will be visitation from 1-3:30 p.m. A formal service will follow and last until 5 p.m. All are welcome.
A friend has graciously set up the following GoFundMe page. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated by Keith’s family: https://www.gofundme.com/f/remembering-keith-a-coach-and-family-man
