Lucretia LoRusso

Lucretia Patricia Fiorella Lo Russo (nee Belardo) of New Windsor, NY, formerly of New Hempstead Village, NY, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was 83 years old. Lucretia was born in the Bronx on November 8, 1933 to Filomena and Angelo Belardo. She graduated from Evander Childs High School and married the love of her life, John, in 1954. In her younger years, Lucretia was a formidable athlete enjoying swimming, cheerleading and other sports. Lucretia was a bookkeeper for Metropolitan Life in New York City until she started a family and became a full-time homemaker. Later on, after moving to Rockland County in 1968, she became an avid tennis player and bowler. Lucretia was a passionate Yankee fan her entire life, but her greatest joys came from her family. She is survived by her daughters, Rosana (Anthony) and Angela (Lawrence), and her son, John; beloved grandchildren, John Michael, Lawrence Jr. (Michelle), Dante, Joseph, and Christian; great grandchildren, Sofia and Lawrence III, and her sister, Phyllis Pecora. She was predeceased by her brother, Pat. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, 10:30am, St. Boniface Church, Monsey, NY, followed by interment at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
