

Mary J. Cestaro, 80, a resident of Nanuet for 52 years, passed away on January 27 at White Horse Village in Newtown Square, PA. She was born and raised in Manhattan and graduated from Saint Jean the Baptist Catholic School. She retired in 2000, with over 30 years’ service, from the Assessor’s Office for the Town of Clarkstown. She married the love of her life, Bill in 1975 and brought together a blended family of five children. Her family was the center of her continuous joy. She is survived by her husband Bill; her three children, two stepchildren, three son in laws and one daughter in law. Jayne and Christopher Gori of Tafton, PA, Thomas and Pamela Odendahl of Garnerville, NY, Patricia and John Rauch of West Chester, PA, Billy Cestaro Jr. of Nanuet, NY, Alyson and Joseph LaChiana of Bardonia, NY; and her nine grandchildren Ashley, Dena, Vanessa, John Thomas, Thomas, Marie, Brianna, Crystal and Mia. Numerous nieces and nephews that have brought joy to her life.
Visitation Friday February 1 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service, 321 South Main Street, New City, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday February 2, 10am at St. Anthony’s Shrine Church, 36 W. Nyack Road, Nanuet, NY, followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
