Michael Delgardo Sr.

Michael DelGardo, 70, of Bardonia, NY, passed away peacefully at home on March 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Born on October 10, 1954, in the Bronx, NY, Michael dedicated his life to service and family. He was a proud member of the NYPD, retiring as a Sergeant in 2000 after years of dedication and commitment to his community. Following his retirement, he and his former partner, Mike O’Brien, established their own private investigation and security firm, continuing their mission to serve and protect others in a new capacity.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy (née DeGregorio), and his cherished children, Michael Jr. and Elisa DelGardo, and Jaclyn DelGardo Passanante. He will forever be remembered by his adored grandchildren, Alessandra, Robert Jr., Cassidy, and Joseph. He will be deeply missed by his brothers, John and Joseph DelGardo, and his sister, Janice Donofrio. Michael also leaves behind his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

He is reunited in eternal peace with his parents, John and Rose DelGardo, his sister Paula, his brother Steven, his in-laws, Kay and Sonny DeGregorio, and brother-in-law Bob. Michael’s legacy of love, strength, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Family will receive visitors on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 4pm-8pm at Higgins Funeral Home, 321 South Main Street New City, NY. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 128 Parrott Road in West Nyack, NY.
