

Nancy Louise Clapp Coleman of Congers, NY passed away on Thursday, April 13, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 27, 1926 in White Plains, NY to Kenneth and Louise Clapp. Nancy was raised in New York, Connecticut and San Francisco. She eventually settled in Easton, PA until moving to Congers, NY where she lived for 50 years.
Nancy graduated in 1948 from Greenwich Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a pediatric nurse at Nyack Hospital. Children were the joy of her life (especially her grandchildren and recent great grandchild). She also enjoyed volunteering for the Congers Civic Association, walks around Rockland Lake, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband, John Coleman, of 60 years, brothers Allen and Roger Clapp, and is survived by her four children and their spouses: Patricia and Richard Sinclair, Roger and Heidi Coleman, Joanie and David Harvey, and Jim and Terry Coleman. "Gamma" and her never-ending smile will be missed dearly by her grandchildren Kate, Eric, Alan, Scott, Kenny, Nancy, Jamie, and Emily, as well as her great-grandson, Liam.
Family will receive friends on Monday at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church in Nyack, NY at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Nancy's name to be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
