

Pauline Felice (Mahoney) Hayes passed on 4/24/25 on her 77th Birthday. She was born in Astoria Queens to Hilda and Joseph “Bud” Mahoney. She met her husband Charles “Chip” when she was 13 years old and married him on 12/17/1966. They moved to Rockland in 1972 to raise their family.
She is survived by her husband Charles, aka Chip of 59 years, daughters, Arlene Rooney and her husband Paul, Ann Marie Brezosky and her husband Rich, Lisa Hayes and her grandchildren Erin & Brendan Rooney and Brian & Kaitlyn Brezosky, niece Bridget Mahoney and her husband Shane Lavin and great nephews Niall and Desmond, along with many cousins both here in the US and Ireland.
Pauline had many loves besides her family, she loved her pool, went on multiple cruises around the Caribbean, Hawaii and Alaska. She traveled around the country to view famous landmarks. She was an artist, beach lover and collected sand from every beach she visited. She loved riding horses, ice staking, sewing, reading and puzzle books. She was heavily involved in volunteering for all the Veterans functions with the Marine Corp League of Pomona and the Veterans Nursing Home in Montrose, NY. Most importantly, she was NEVER without out a cup of Tea!
After being a stay at home Mom and Grandma, she started working for Chestnut Ridge Transportation as a bus driver for Special Needs Children for almost 13 years.
She is predeceased by her parents Hilda & Joseph “Bud” Mahoney, as well as, her brothers Fred & Kevin and his wife Louise Lucchino.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday 4/29/25 at Higgins Funeral Home, from 3pm to 7pm (321 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956). A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gregory’s Church (Cinder Road, Garnerville) at 11am followed by a burial at Frederick Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery (220 Brick Church Rd in Spring Valley, New York 10977).
