Rae Lavecchia passed away peacefully on September 12, 2012 with her family by her side. Rae was born on June 6, 1932 to the late Concetta and Agostino Mozzillo. In her younger years Rae was involved in bowling with her sons. She loved playing bingo and cooking with her family and recently making homemade greeting cards for her loved ones. She was a Ladies Auxiliary Member at the Italian American Social Club in West Haverstraw, NY. Rae treasured her family. Her children and grandchildren brought her much joy. Rae is predeceased by her brother, Agostino Mozzillo Jr. and her daughter-in-law Theresa Lavecchia. Rae is survived by her loving sons James (Joyce) of Pomona, Dean of New City, and Louis (Linda) of Nanuet, and her adoring grandchildren Janine, Kristen, Michael, and Megan, Dean, Lauren, Louis, Anthony and Joseph. She is also survived by wonderful aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 10am, St. Augustine’s Church, New City. Private Cremation to follow.
