René Cardona, 61, of Stony Point, NY has sadly passed away on March 18, 2025, after a life richly lived in service. He is survived by his only beloved son Christian René Cardona. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers Maria, Michele, Raymond and José Cardona, his dear nephew and niece, Stephen and Tiana, great nephew Karter and many other beloved nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his loving mother Maria Colon and father René Cardona.
In law enforcement, he was a highly decorated member of an elite narcotics team, as an Investigator in the New York State Police. He rose to the rank of Senior Investigator with the DEA’s Drug Enforcement Taskforce and finished his 36 years of service with the Town of Goshen Police Department. René was a beacon of light and touched the lives of all who knew him, with his smile, compassion, and sense of humor.
A visitation for René will be held at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 321 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956 on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 120 Kings hwy, Tappan, NY at 11:30am.
