

Robert S. Kadin, 51, of Stony Point, NY, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on March 6, 2013 after a long and brave battle against cancer. Robert is survived by his wife, Jeannette, of almost 30 years; his daughters Samantha and Andrea; his father Gilbert; his brothers Jeffrey (Renee) and Steven (Kelly); sister Helen (Michael McKeever II); his in-laws Fred and Elizabeth Bohlander; sisters-in-law Donna (Gary) Bright and Christine (Michael) Hennigan and many nieces, one nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins. Robert is predeceased by his mother, Sondra, and his loyal dog, Fred.
Robert was a proud member of the Wayne Hose Co. #1 in Stony Point for 30 years, the Rockland County Volunteer Firemen's Association and Hudson Valley Volunteer Firemen's Association. He was a former Commissioner of the Stony Point Fire District. Robert was a former member of the Board of Directors, a scuba diver and assistant chief driver. In 1996, Robert received a commendation for volunteering to respond to the ice storms in the North Country of New York. Robert worked for Entergy at Indian Point for 30 years. He was on the HazMat Team, Rec Committee and the Fire Brigade. Robert had a passion for collecting cars, particularly Ford Mustangs, and antiques.
Family will receive friends and relatives on Friday and Saturday from 3-7pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. A Firematic Service will be held Saturday at 6:30pm followed by a memorial service at 7pm at the funeral home. Donations are requested in Robert's memory to the United Hospice of Rockland and Wayne Hose Fire Co. #1.
