

Rosaria (Rose) Cavataio, 88 years old, passed away on May 16th, 2014 at home in Toms River, NJ. Born to Gaetano and Giovanni Zucchero in Manhattan, Rose lived in the Bronx for 40 years with her family. She worked as a seamstress for over 25 years and was a member of the International Ladies’ Garment Worker’s Union. Rose retired to Holiday City in Toms River in 1993 and enjoyed watching her favored sports, travelling, but most of all playing Pan, Canasta and Mah Jong with her cherished friends. Rose was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, companion, and friend. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Vincent, her loving companion Tomas Cozzoli, Sister Nicolina Milito, and son-in-law Robert Colucci. Rose is survived by her daughters Marianne Colucci, Donna Ferraro and her husband Tony, sister Frances Toscano, her brother Joseph Zucchero and his wife Ann, and grandchildren Christine Connelly, Debra Batorfalvy and husband Bohdan, Lisa and Anthony Ferraro. Rose will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visiting will be held from 10 to 11am on Wednesday, May 21 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 am at St. Anthony’s Shrine Church in Nanuet, NY, followed by entombment at Ferncliff Mausoleum, Hartsdale, NY.
