Ryan Patrick Berry, 25 of New City, died March 17, 2011 after a long battle with Ewing Sarcoma Cancer. His loving family was by his side. He was born September 7, 1985 in Middle Village, NY. Ryan graduated from Clarkstown South High School in 2003. He enlisted in the US Army in 2007. He was an active soldier stationed at Westpoint, NY and served in Korea. The Army fortified his character and he served honorably. He was also a member of Local One Elevator Constructors Union. He had a love of the outdoors and fishing. He is survived by his loving family, parents Monica and Kevin, brother Kevin, sister Jillian and his loyal dog Sammi. He is predeceased by his grandparents John and Kathleen Kilkenny and grandmother Mary Pike. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Higgins Funeral Home in New City. Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday 10 AM at St. Augustine's in New City. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be sent to Hi Tor Animal Shelters or to Fisher House, Ft. Lewis Washington.
