

Salvatore Thomas Puccio, 85, of Nanuet, New York, passed away peacefully at home on November 24, 2025. Born on January 14, 1940 to Joseph and Anna (Ferreri) Puccio on the Lower East Side in New York City, he lived a life grounded in faith, family, and humility.
Sal cherished his childhood memories growing up surrounded by the love of an extended family that included many loving grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
After graduating high school,he continued his education at community college in the evenings while working as a land surveyor.He entered the military at the age of 23 and his service furthered his knowledge and passion for engineering and construction,instilling in him a sense of discipline,integrity, and dedication that remained with him throughout his entire career.
With gratitude for the guidance and encouragement of his beloved older brother,Jerome,he began his career in the construction industry.Sal went on to build an accomplished professional life, most notably serving as Vice President of Construction for Glenwood Management, where he helped develop some of New York City’s most notable luxury apartment buildings.He took great pride in his work and,more importantly, in the friendships and partnerships formed throughout his career.
On September 28, 1968 Sal married the love of his life, Florence, affectionately known as Babe,and they recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Together they built a warm and loving home centered on family, faith and laughter.
The couple shared many beautiful years filled with family trips, dancing, and countless gatherings surrounded by loved ones. Sal delighted in baking with his grandchildren and never went to bed without a glass of milk and a bedtime snack.He loved cheering on his beloved New York Jets,for whom he had been a season ticket holder since 1969,passing down the tradition to his children and grandchildren.
A fun loving, warm and generous man with an unshakable faith in God, Sal brought laughter and joy wherever he went.He was a proud American and devout Christian.Sal was a parishioner of St.Anthony’s Church in Nanuet,where he served as an usher and cherished his relationships with the priests and parish family. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.His faith in Jesus was a cornerstone of his life and he never failed to thank Him everyday.
Upon his retirement, Sal and Flo became“snowbirds” and enjoyed the winters in Fort Myers Beach, making new friends and memories. Sal is survived by his devoted wife, Florence, and their cherished daughters, Louise (Omar)Manzione, Susan (Joseph) Krummack, Anna Klimek, Maria (Joshua) Jerris, and Joanne (George)Reilly, along with his beloved grandchildren, Tyler (Jackie), Austin, Scott, Matthew,Gabriella,Nicholas, Andrew, Emily, Amelia and his great granddaughter, Eliana.
Sal is predeceased by his loving parents, Joseph and Anna Puccio, brother Jerome Puccio, and many other close family members.
Sal's strength, gratitude and unwavering faith were gifts he shared with everyone he met.It gave him great joy to make others smile and laugh. He often said,“Did I make you laugh?Good, then I did my job!”
He is loved forever and will be remembered always.
A visitation will be held at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., located at 321 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956, on December 2, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service is scheduled for December 3, 2025, at 11:30 am at St. Anthony's Church, 36 W Nyack Rd, Nanuet, NY 10954.
The Committal Service will take place at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, 36 W Nyack Rd, Nanuet, NY 10954.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.
