

Born in Nyack, NY on November 24, 1940, to Theodore and Margaret (Concklin) Schultz, Ted was raised on his grandfather’s farm in Pomona, NY. He attended Spring Valley High School where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Ted wrestled and played football, acquiring the nickname “Tank”. His love of football led him to attend college at Illinois Wesleyan University where he played for four years; he was an active member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Ted later earned his MBA at Washington University.
It was at Illinois Wesleyan that Ted met his wife, Carol Sweasy. They married in June,1965. Settling in Pearl River, NY and later Stony Point, NY, they raised their children Traci and Craig. Ted began his career helping his father, Ted Sr., at Ted Schultz Auto Sales (est. 1946) in Pearl River, NY. This is where Ted’s passion for all things “Ford” began and continued for the next 60 years. In 1971, he relocated the dealership to Route 304 in Nanuet where it continued to grow and became a well- established part of the community.Ted built a nationally ranked top 100 Ford dealership and became one of a select few to receive numerous Ford Motor Company President’s Awards. Being a hardworking, humble man,he never relished being in the spotlight.
Ted enjoyed spending time with his wonderful friends, neighbors in Pearl River and boating on the Hudson River. His enjoyment of boating later led him to Schroon Lake, NY where he would spend weekends with his family and friends. Those connections also led Ted to Vermont where he enjoyed the clean mountain air. His true love was spending time with his grandchildren, Kevin and Caroline. Ted was a fixture at every school and sporting event.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Carol. He is survived by his children Traci Brega (Kevin) and Craig Schultz (Justina), his grandchildren Kevin and Caroline and his sister Beverly Schultz Csordas. Ted’s legacy will live on through the professional and life lessons he instilled in his family,friends and the countless lives he has touched.
