Thomas Hodne

Thomas Telmar Hodne of New City, N.Y. went to be with our Lord on January 29, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, and his three sons, Thomas Telmar, Jr., David and his wife Shelley, and Daniel and his wife Rebecca.

He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Lauren, Kristen, Carolyn, Taylor and Matthew.

He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Egenes.

Thomas was a United States Army veteran having served in the 82nd Airborne Division, where a parachute malfunction caused him to become a paraplegic and leave the service. He decided to enroll in the New York Institute of Technology to study Architecture, where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree.

He worked until retirement for Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association and it was his life’s calling and passion to help other disabled veterans by designing accessibility solutions.

Tom was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Regina and Thore Hodne on November 27, 1939.

He married his one and only sweetheart, Ruth, in January 1967.

His memorial service will be held March 31, 11 AM at Hope Community Church, 109 N Middletown Road, Nanuet, NY, followed by burial at Brick Church Cemetery in Spring Valley, NY.
