March 14, 1937 – April 28, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Thomas Patrick Lyden, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, on April 28, 2025.
Thomas was the devoted husband of Phyllis Lyden, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and faith. Together they raised three wonderful daughters: Karen (husband Jimmy), Donna (husband Lou), and Denise (husband Jim), all of whom carry forward his legacy of kindness, dedication, and strength.
Thomas’s greatest joy was his family. He was a proud grandfather to Anthony (wife Rebecca), Alexa, Thomas, James(fiancée Brooke), Jimmy, Samantha, Joseph, Matthew, Nicholas, Jack, and Steven. His love continued to bless a new generation, as he delighted in his role as great-grandfather to Anthony, Harrison, and Cecilia.
A proud United States Marine, Thomas lived his life with honor, courage, and commitment — values that shaped every aspect of his character. He brought the same spirit of service and devotion to his longtime involvement with Saint Augustine Church, where he was an active and cherished member of the community.
Thomas had a warm heart, a strong faith, and an unshakable dedication to those he loved. His life was a testament to generosity, loyalty, and quiet strength. He leaves behind a family who will forever treasure his wisdom, laughter, and unwavering love.
While Thomas will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the lessons he imparted will live on in all those who were blessed to know him.
A visitation for Thomas will be held Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 321 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956. Mass of Christian burial will occur Monday, May 5, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Augustine's Church, 118 S Main St, New City, NY 10956. An entombment will occur Monday, May 5, 2025 from 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, 36 W Nyack Rd, Nanuet, NY 10954.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Thomas’s memory to United Hospice of Rockland.
Semper Fi, Thomas. Your spirit remains with us always.
