

Dean, AKA Deano, beloved father/brother/grandfather, died on February 18, 2026, at the age of 80.
Dean was born on November 10, 1945, in Minneapolis, MN to Elmer Hans Anderson and Marjorie Kathryn Dittbenner. He grew up in Brooklyn Center, MN and attended Osseo High School. He attended the University of Minnesota studying Business Administration.
Dean began serving his country in 1966. In the Army, he completed basic training in Missouri and attended helicopter school. He served during the Vietnam War as a Huey Helicopter Crew Chief. Dean spent the majority of his professional career as an executive recruiter, co-owning his business Corporate Resources.
Dean had twin daughters, Taryn and Lindsey, with his former wife LaVonne. He also was a loving and proud grandfather to Graham, Chloe, and Rafe.
Dean enjoyed watching and playing many sports: golf, fishing, cars. He always had a game on the TV or was out on the golf course and had a shared love/hate relationship with the Minnesota Vikings. He kept in shape by visiting the gym several times a week, as much for the social connection as the workout. Dean loved music, especially classic rock. He was also an active member of the Veterans Association.
Dean is survived by his children, Taryn Levins (Michael), and Lindsey Fitch (Paul); grandchildren, Graham and Chloe Levins, and Rafe Fitch; sisters, Cheryl Banta and Barb Heinrich (George).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Anderson, Marge Jensen (Dittbenner), and stepfather Kenny Jensen.
Funeral Service 4 pm Friday, March 6, 2026, at Kapala-Glodek-Malone Funeral Home (7800 Bass Lake Rd, New Hope, MN) Visitation 3 pm until the time of service.
Military honors will follow the service at the funeral home.
Private inurnment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to his family to be allocated in Dean's memory to charities that he held close to his heart.
