Richard A. Barr

21 juin 1932 – 21 février 2025
Avis de décès de Richard A. Barr
AUX SOINS DE

Kapala-Glodek-Malone Funeral Home

Dick Barr was the type of person who made friends easily and had a wonderful 92 years of life. Growing up in St Paul he was an alum of Cretin-Derham Hall and the University of St. Thomas. As a young man, he joined the Air Force, where he flew B24’s and C119 cargo planes around the world. He loved serving his country as a pilot and was an active reservist for many years. He followed his passion for flying and traveled extensively around the country. He took his last solo flight at the age of 80, providing his iconic ‘wing wave’ as his entire family watched on.

Dick was also an entrepreneur and had the business skills to succeed in many business ventures that took him all over the world. Accepted into the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) in 1968, and later in the Minnesota Executives Organization (MEO). Some of his greatest business accomplishments were Molded Products, BHI Energy, Clinch on Products, and Developed Technology Resources.

As a family man, Dick and Barbara Barr lived a beautiful life in the Wayzata area, raising 5 children, David, Terri, Mary Ann, Catherine and Carol, and enjoying 14 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.

For 40 years, many a weekend was spent at the cabin on Big Sand Lake in Webster Wisconsin. After 40 years of marriage, Dick and Barb divorced. A few years later, he found love again with Margaret Johnson. They married and proceeded to live the retired person’s dream for the next 25 years. They lived in Arizona in the winter, Minnesota in the summer, and spent the spring and fall touring the USA in their motor home and visiting friends. In his final years he was always healthy but developed dementia which created new challenges. Dick spent his final years in a memory care unit with his wife Margaret. Special thanks to the staff at Havenwood for the wonderful care they provided him.

A graveside service will be held on June 21st at 10am in Webster, WI.
