Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Friend

William (Bill) Ferro passed away Thursday October 8, 2020 in Plymouth, Minnesota surrounded by family. He was 88 years old.

Bill was born April 23, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Mike and Lulu Ferro. In 1952, at the age of 20, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served in the Second Infantry Division until 1954 and was stationed in Korea during the final phase of the war. Upon returning home, Bill earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the University of Illinois, graduating in 1956. He married the love of his life, Margaret Robinson, in October 1957 in her hometown of Wheaton, Illinois.

Bill had an extensive career in Information Technology, holding several senior management positions. He was hired as Systems Director for Saudia National Airlines in 1981, which relocated him and his wife to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for five years. The job and their new location gave the couple the opportunity to visit many of the world’s great cities, which they enjoyed immensely.

As a man who was steadfast in all he did, Bill will be remembered for his loving spirit, his loyalty to family and friends, his willingness to help others, and his strong faith in the Lord.

Having a loving family was a priority and one of Bill’s favorite parts of life. He is survived by his wife Margaret, three sons and their spouses, Steve (Genny Harvey), Terry (Wynne), and Brian (Ann), twelve grandchildren Bob, Amanda, Ryan, Dan, Nick, Matt, Adam, Cassie, Andrew, Ben, Alex and Megan as well as four great-grandchildren Carson, Desmond, Owen, and Natalia.

He was preceded in death by his brother, George Vogtli and his sisters, Willeen Werden and Julia Nelson.

A memorial service will take place at Plymouth Covenant Church on Saturday, December 12th at 11am, with a lunch reception following. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bill's name may be made to Plymouth Covenant Church at 4300 Vicksburg Lane North, Plymouth, MN 55446. These donations should be directed to the “benevolence fund” to help those in need within the Twin Cities community.

Uncle Bill will be missed even though we did not see each other that often. I will miss his Christmas letter every year writing about all his adventures and his family that he was very proud of. He was a wonderful person and will be missed, now he can be with his family in heaven!

Uncle Bill was the nicest, caring person all the time. He was full of energy and was always ready to do anything. I will always remember the Thanksgiving dinners when I was growing up at Uncle Bill and Aunt Marge’s house they always put together the best food. And I am pretty sure 30 people could fit at the table. And the big back yard with the big weeping willow tree. He will be greatly missed.

Uncle Bill gave the best hugs and he loved to sing to my girls. He baptized my daughter and he was so proud to do so. He was a great man and he will be missed. Bit he is in heaven with GOD. And the rest of the family .
