

New Iberia – A service of remembrance celebrating the life of Ada Lancon Davey will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Very Rev. Mike Davey will officiate. Mrs. Ada will laid to rest with her husband at St. John Cemetery in Jeanerette.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:00 am until time of 2:15 pm.
Ada was born July 4, 1935 in Jeanerette to the late Charles Lancon Jr. and the late Valerie Hebert Lancon, and passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Davey was a homemaker who enjoyed fishing and shopping. She was a former member of the New Iberia Bowling Association and bowled with a league locally. She also loved cooking and sharing meals with her family. She will be missed dearly.
Survivors include her children, Linda Jernigan and husband Ronald of Milton, FL, Michelle D. Camacho of St. Martinville, Renee Davey of Lafayette, William P. Davey, Frederick Davey and wife Brenna, and James “Jed” Davey all of New Iberia; 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; and her siblings, Melba Borel or Morgan City, Ovelia Martin and S.J., and Roland Charles “RC” Lancon and wife Sue of Metairie.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Opie Davey; three sons, Keith Douglas Davey, Wayne Michael Davey and Joseph Davey; a grandson, Seth Harvey Davey; her son-in-law, Andrew “Tuffy” Camacho; and her siblings, Lorraine Perrero, and Howard, Armand, Helaire and Herbert Lancon.
Pallbearers will be Jed Davey, Matthew Davey, Michael Schouest, III, Nicholas Schouest, Tyson Trahan and Joseph Davey.
