Betty Sonnier Guillot

Betty Sonnier Guillot, a cherished wife, devoted mother, and adored grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2024, at Calcutta House in Lafayette. She was 78 years old at the time of her passing. Betty was born on November 8, 1945, to the late John and Hazel Sonnier.

Betty found immense joy in her role as a homemaker, dedicating herself to the care of her family and home. She took great pride in maintaining her yard to perfection and tending to her vegetable garden, ensuring her family had fresh produce for their meals. Among her many passions were cheering for her beloved New Orleans Saints, enjoying vacations on the Florida beaches, and showering love on her dogs and cats. Her infectious sense of humor lit up every room she entered, bringing laughter and smiles to all who knew her.

Though Betty has departed from this earthly realm, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. We eagerly anticipate the day when we will be reunited with her in eternal glory. Rest peacefully, Betty. You are dearly loved.

Betty is survived by her devoted husband and best friend of 54 years, Rickie J. Guillot; her loving children, James B. Guillot and Audra Guillot Clark; her cherished grandchildren, Jacob Guillot, Gavin Guillot, Abigail Guillot, Matthew Persilver, and Tyler Persilver; and her dear sisters, Jane Lopez and Janette Byrd.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy Sonnier and Johnny Sonnier.

In accordance with Betty's wishes, no funeral services will be held.
