Betty Hebert Myers

NEW IBERIA – Funeral services will be celebrated for Betty Hebert Myers, age 85, at 3:00 pm Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Fr. Ed Degeyter will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Thursday from 10:00 am until time of services.

Betty was born June 9, 1928 in Iberia Parish to the late Stanley and Lydie Boutte Hebert, and passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette.

Mrs. Hebert was a 1947 graduate of New Iberia High. She and her husband owned and operated Myers Grocery on Lewis St. for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Betty will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Nelton Myers of New Iberia; her sons, Chris Myers of Vidor, TX, Steve T. Myers and wife Debra, and Dave Myers all of New Iberia; and five grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Craig Joseph Myers; her daughter-in-law, Ivy Lynn Myers; and her brother, Stanley Hebert, Jr.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.
