Brenda Viator Viator Romero

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Wayne Romero, the former Brenda Viator, age 68, at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. William Blanda officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Wednesday until 9:30 am.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Romero passed away at 7:45 pm on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Lady of the Oaks Nursing Home.

Brenda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and shopping.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Wayne Romero of New Iberia; one son, Dwayne Romero of New Iberia; two daughters, Winifred Faye Romero of New Iberia and Juanita Romero Sonnier and husband Roy of Delcambre; five grandchildren, Shea Sonnier, Shauna Sonnier; Shani Sonnier, Aden Romero and Emma Romero; her father, Wilbert Viator of New Iberia; one brother, Stanley Viator of New Iberia and three sisters, Bonnie V. Laux and husband Bob of Florida; Lorraine Viator of St. Martinville and Caroline V. Veazey and husband Keith of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Trahan Viator.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.
