Danny James Meche

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Danny James Meche, age 59, at 11:30 am Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church with Fr. Gene Tremie officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Saturday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Danny passed away at 8:47 am on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at his residence.

Danny was a salesman in the oilfield industry for many years. He loved motor cross sports and enjoyed wood working and fishing.

He is survived by his daughters, Mandy M. Scardino and husband Frank of Broussard; Jenny M. Comeaux and husband Michael of Youngsville and Jessica Meche of Oberlin; one son, Nicholas Meche of New Iberia and one step son, Michael Warren of Dallas, TX; his mother, Audrey Stelly Meche of New Iberia; one sister, Angie Meche of Youngsville; one brother, Michael “Mike” Meche and wife Mary of Ville Platte and seven grandchildren, Ronnie Morgel, Jr., Ashtyn Morgel, Sofia Scardino, Ava Comeaux, Ahmi Comeaux, Mallory Menier and Hunter Delaney.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nolan Joseph Meche.

Pallbearers will be Frank Scardino, Michael Comeaux, Michael “Mike” Meche, Ronnie Morgel, Jr. and Drew Derouen.

Memorial donations may be made in his name for masses to be said.
