Desire Joseph Dutile Jr.

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Desire Joseph Dutile, Jr., age 73, at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 7, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Garrett Savoy officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 1:45 pm on Monday with a rosary at 11:00 am.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Dutile passed away at 3:50 am on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Iberia Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Dutile proudly served his country in the Louisiana National Guard from 1963-1970. He was a hard worker who worked at Rig Fabrications and Repair for fifteen years. His hobbies included raising rabbits, wood working, and attending rodeos. Mr. Desire enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Susan Romero Dutile; son, Todd Dutile and wife Michelle of New Iberia; grandson, Todd Joseph Dutile of New Iberia; brothers, Ronnie Dutile and wife Marisa and Mitchell Dutile and wife Nicole both of New Iberia; sisters, Marion Viator and husband Eddie of Ruston, Barbara Alleman, Judy D. Bourque, Tina Oliver and husband Rickey all of New Iberia and Geraldine Dutile of Ashflat, AR, and Ann Schmidt of Grayling, MI; brothers-in-law, Nelton Romero, Shelton Romero and wife Suzie, Rickey Romero, Jeff Romero, and Robert Romero and wife Terrilyn; and sisters-in-law, Gail Landry and husband Steve, Nancy Carline and husband Brent, and Sandra Romero.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Desire Sr. and Loretta Romero Dutile; maternal grandparents, Eddie and Neolie Porrier; paternal grandparents, Mitchell and Amy Dutile; in-laws, Paul E. and Amy Romero; and sisters-in-law, Cynthia Romero and Tammy Romero.

Pallbearers will be Craig Romero, Beau Romero, Brandon Romero, Kody Romero, Blaze Romero, Correy Landry, Matthew Carline, Cody Dutile, and Mitchell Dutile.

Honorary pallbearer will be T.J Dutile.
