Donald Gayle Hebert of New Iberia, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, at his residence. He was born on October 28, 1953, in Abbeville, LA to the late Lindsey Matthew Hebert, Sr. and Mary Milliman Hebert and was one of five children, including his twin brother, Ronald.
Donald dedicated more than 20 years of his career to Shell, where he served as a Production Operator. Following his retirement, his expertise and strong work ethic led him to continue contributing as a contract worker with QPL for several years.
Outside of work, Donald found his greatest joy in the outdoors. He loved camping, exploring, and setting out on new adventures to sightsee and capture the beauty of his travels through photography. His family treasures the many memories of those trips and the countless photos he shared along the way.
At home, Donald was known for his favorite chair—where he could always be found with the TV remote, his phone, and his iPad in hand, keeping up with his favorite sports. His playful sense of humor showed through in his knack for cheering on the opposing team, much to the amusement (and occasional frustration) of his family.
Donald will be remembered for his love of life, his sense of adventure, and the laughter he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 23 years, Susan Baccigalopi Hebert; his children, Christopher Daniel Hebert (Annie); Ross Michael Hebert and Tenetia Kaye Bergeron (Vernon); six grandchildren, Dustin Bergeron (Brianna), Trinity Preston, Kaine Preston, Journey Demouchet, London Hebert and Lyric Hebert; one great grandchild, Everleigh Bergeron; step children, Chuck Benoit (Jennifer) and Dwayne Benoit; step grandchildren, Rebecca Benoit, Isabella Benoit, Caroline Benoit, Lucas Benoit and Victoria Benoit; his mother, Mary Milliman Hebert; one brother, Lindsey “Skipper” Hebert (Karen) and one sister, Dayna Broussard (Al).
Along with his father he is preceded in death by his brothers, his twin, Ronald Gayle Hebert and Kevin David Hebert.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 11:00 am at Holy Family Cemetery. Deacon Joshua LeBlanc will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Holy Family Cemetery.
