Elizabeth Liz Fyffe Stewart

NEW IBERIA – Memorial Services will be conducted for Mrs. Wayne Alexander Stewart, the former Elizabeth Fyffe, age 85, at 11:00 am Friday November 20, 2015 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Pastor Tracey King officiating. Interment will be held privately at a later date.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 am until services.

A native of Bridgeport, IL and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Stewart passed away at 2:05 am on Wednesday November 18, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Stewart was an active member of Westside Baptist Church. She worked at the Food Bank for many years. Her love of reading, especially devotions and the Bible, was second only to her love of her family. Liz will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Alex Stewart and wife Sherry of Luling; daughters, Jenny Emfinger of Natchez and Pam Curry and husband Alden of Benton; grandchildren, Kristi Tanner, Chaney Clack, Marcie Gotreaux, Micah Stewart, Kellie Curry, and Valerie Skaradzinski; fifteen great grandchildren; brother, Grover Fyffe and wife Jane of San Marcus, TX; and sister, Ruth Maxie and husband Henry of Baldwin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Alexander Stewart; parents, Forest Casper and Alice Potts Fyffe; brother, Jr. Fyffe; and sister, Eileen Betts.
