A native and resident of Iberia Parish, Mrs. Pouliot passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at New Iberia Manor North.
A devoted Catholic and faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville, Elsie was very active in the church. Every week, without fail, she would devote herself to a Holy Hour of Adoration at the church. Outside of the church, Elsie was most happy when she was with her family. She absolutely loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Elsie will be remembered most for her kind smile and her servant’s heart. She never said a bad word against anyone. Her life was lived to serve family and friends, and her Lord God. Elsie also enjoyed sewing, cooking for friends and family, and dancing. She will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Yvonne P. Rosen and husband Mike of Lafayette, Barbara P. Walker and husband Carl of St. Francisville, and Ernest J. “Ernie” Pouliot of New Iberia; grandchildren, Shannon Markward, Candice Schott, Jessica Mancuso, Alexandra Rosen, Jason Pouliot, Tiffany Menard and Jill Pouliot; great grandchildren, Mason Mancuso, Jonas Markward, Alexis and Walker Schott, Meg, Abbey, and Cooper Menard, and Emma Pouliot.
Preceding her in death is her loving husband of 58 years, Marcell J. “Mike” Pouliot; parents, Wilton and Maria LeBlanc Decuir; daughter-in-law, Donna Pouliot; brothers, Oswald, Lee Roy, and Perry Decuir; and sister, Ida DeHart
Pallbearers will be Ernie Pouliot, Jason Pouliot, Carl Walker, Ryan Menard, Garrick Schott, and Jeff Decoux.
