Evelie Bourque Chevalon

COTEAU – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Etienne “Jun” Chevalon, Jr., the former Evelie Bourque, age 85, at 11:00 am Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Fr. Barry Crochet will conduct the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Saturday until service time.

A native of Avery Island and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Chevalon passed away at 11:05 am on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Chevalon was the co-owner with her husband of Chevalon’s Plumbing, now Queen City Plumbing Heating and A/C. She loved sewing and gardening and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Chevalon is survived by her children, Huey Chevalon and wife Vicki; Susan Edmonds and husband Ed; Sandra LeBlanc and husband Danny; Arlene June Stein and husband James and Etienne “Brush” Chevalon, III and wife Jody all of New Iberia, eight grandchildren, Michelle Bergeron; Stephanie Dogay; Nicole Semar; D.J. LeBlanc; Justin LeBlanc; Chelsea Stein; Conner Stein and Cigi Chevalon; three great grandchildren, Brandon Bergeron; Hailey Bergeron and Blake Chevalon and one great great grandchild, Ava Brooke Chevalon.

She is also survived by one brother, Roy Bourque and wife Audrey; one sister, Velta Fremin and husband Rayward, Sr. and one step sister, Evelyn Derouen all of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Etienne “Jun” Chevalon, Jr;.her parents, Pierre and Paula Derouen Bourque; two brothers, Lenis Bourque and Vanice Bourque; three sisters, Anna Mae Robicheaux, Nell Holman and Rella LeBlanc and one step sister, Olite Broussard.

Pallbearers will be Huey Chevalon, Etienne “Brush” Chevalon, III, D.J. LeBlanc, Justin LeBlanc, Blake Chevalon and Conner Stein.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Bergeron, Larry Chevalon, Donald Chevalon, David Fremin, James Stein, Danny LeBlanc, Sr. and Ed Edmonds.

The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice and Sierra Dutile for all of their compassion and wonderful care.
