Geraldine Peterson Savoy

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Tilly Joseph Savoy, the former Geraldine Peterson, age 69, at 11:00 am on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Mrs. Savoy will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the service time on Monday.

A native of Franklin and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Savoy passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 in Barstow, CA.

Geraldine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked as a homemaker and was backbone of her family. She attended Faith Cathedral World Outreach Center, in New Iberia, with her husband who performed in the Band. Geraldine loved to visit with her family and cook for family gatherings. She enjoyed sewing and knitting. She was once known for the beautiful wedding cakes she made. Geraldine will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Michael Savoy, Debra Bouillion, Kevin Savoy, Karen Leleux, Mark Savoy, Scott Savoy Sr, Christine Kennard, and Kim Seek; twelve grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tilly Joseph Savoy; parents, Gerald and Earline Peterson; and sister, Mary Louise Peterson Lanie.

Family and friends will be acting as pallbearers.
