NEW IBERIA – A memorial service will be conducted for Gladys Theriot Derouen, age 80, at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia. Deacon Keith Duhon will officiate. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at the funeral home on Saturday from 8:00 am until the service time.
A native of Erath and longtime resident of New Iberia, Gladys passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at her residence.
Born on December 10, 1942 to the late Stephen and Angela Girard Theriot, Gladys was an only child. She was a tough lady who enjoyed the simple things in life and did things her own way. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Gladys will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Wade Derouen and Steven Derouen (Corene); daughter, Tina Derouen; grandchildren, Brooke Fournier, Brad Badeaux, Brittany Badeaux, Chase Viator, Savannah Judice, Krystal Derouen Vandevander, Tyra Clark, Amber Derouen, Andrew Derouen, and Albert Johnson; and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Stephen Theriot Angela Girard Theriot.
