

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Glory Delahoussaye, the former Glory Saunier, age 83, at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Schexnayder officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Delcambre.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Tuesday until service time.
A native of Delcambre and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Delahoussaye passed away peacefully at 11:22 am on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Delahoussaye was a longtime and faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she was a member of the Choir and served with the Ladies Alter Society at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre. She also taught 1st grade religion classes with the church for many years. Mrs. Delahoussaye was always ready and willing to serve the church.
Along with being a loving mother and wife to her husband of sixty-four years, Raymond Delahoussaye, Mrs. Delahoussaye worked with T.E. Mixon Lumber Company for over forty years as a book keeper. She was a loving, kind, and caring woman who gave all her time to the service of others. She will be deeply missed by all those she knew and loved.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Delahoussaye; son, Joey Delahoussaye and wife Norma; daughters, Jenny D. Henry, Mona D. Rodrigue and husband Jimmy, and Angie D. Stein and husband Kenneth; grandchildren, Shantel Oliveri, Ryan Henry, Erin Vaughan, Kevin Rodrigue, Jenee R. Romero, Hanna Rodrigue, Brittney Stein, Mason Stein, Ramsey Stein, Hunter Delahoussaye, and Connor Delahoussaye; seven great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and sister-in-laws, Melby Saunier and Gloria Saunier.
She was preceded in death by her son, Saul James Delahoussaye; parents, Bruno, Sr. and Edna LeBlanc Saunier; brothers, James Saunier, Bruno Saunier, Jr., Jeffery Saunier, Jack Saunier, and Jerry Saunier; sisters, Gladys S. Comeaux and Betty S. Fremin; and son-in-law, Larry Henry.
Pallbearers will be Joey Delahoussaye, Kenneth Stein, Jimmy Rodrigue, Ryan Henry, Kevin Rodrigue, and Mason Stein.
Donations may be made in Mrs. Delahoussaye’s name to the Alzheimer's Association at, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
