Harris Anthony Castille

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Harris Anthony Castille, age 85, at 10:00 am Monday, June 27, 2016 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Castille passed away at 10:50 am on, Thursday, June 23, 2016 at LA Extended Care at Lafayette General.

Mr. Castille was a member of the LA National Guard for many years, the American Legion, NRA, Teche Woodworkers and many other organizations.

He was a marine electrician, diesel mechanic and generator packager at Harris Castille, Inc. in New Iberia. He founded the company in 1962 where he worked and operated the business until his retirement in the late 90’s. His hobbies included wood working, genealogy and traveling and camping with his wife. He will be remembered for his joy and patience in assisting and teaching others.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Elizabeth Aucoin Castille of New Iberia, one daughter, Wanda Castille Laper and husband Britt of St. Martinville; two sons, Mark Anthony Castille and wife Roxanne of Kentwwod, LA and Karl Castille, Sr. and wife Melinda of New Iberia; two sisters, Beverly Fremin and Madeline VanBrocklin; seven grandchildren, Brooke Laper; Kayla Arceneaux; Ashley Swtizer; Amber Breaux; Karl Castille, Jr.; Britany Foret and Kelsey Castille and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Anthony Castille and Grace Provost Castille and one brother, Benedict Castille.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.
