James sat next to me in Speech class and I have such fond memories of cutting up and laughing together. I always thought we'd find some time to hang out together in New Orleans, yet I'm now reminded of how short life is. He lived with no regrets, but Il always regret that we lost touch in adulthood. May fond memories warm the hearts of all who loved him!

I only met James last year at the TdR. He was so motivating. We rode together and he pushed us. We really bonded and I am going to miss him a lot. I will think of him often and have him in my thoughts everyday. So glad that I got to meet James and know him. It was only a week but it felt like a lot longer and during that time James made a lasting impression on me and my teammates. James will be missed and remembered.

My prayers go out to all of family and friends. He was a good friend of my brother, Stuart Johnson. I met him a few times he seemed like a real nice guy. I know everyone will miss him greatly. My heart goes out to his Mom no his two sons. May "God" bless you all!

James was a person full of life, very tragic to hear he has left us. My prayers are with you all during these very trying times... RIP James.. Way to early to be gone......

Oh!  Roberta!  What a beautiful son and a beautiful family. Losing a child is horrific.  May you all find comfort in the wonderful memories you made with him.  He will live in you through them.  Hugs to all of you and God's blessings be with you.

I was fortunate to know James for just a week in May 2017, and ride with him in the Tour du Rouge.  Ride with him is an exaggeration as I would soon see him disappear over the horizon each morning!  I ride a bicycle, he was a cyclist.  The memory of that week, the group of fellow riders and of James will live with me always.
My condolences and prayers go to his family, his friends who knew him better than me, and our entire cycling family, all of whom have lost a fine person far too early in life.

James you were a favorite on our group rides.  It always brought a smile to my face when you rolled up as it ensured some good laughs, a challenging pace, and wonderful memories.  Our rides will always be a little smaller and sadder without you there, but we were definitely better from having known you.  Godspeed my friend.

I was blessed to experienced a great day with James.  He drove to Houston to join a group folks he didn't know to ride 200 miles on bicycle around greater Houston.  It was great day of hard effort where we pushed each other.   I knew this fine man for one day of his life but he will live on in my life for many days.

I first met you at Tour de Rouge in May of 2016 where we rode 100 miles from Beaumont to Sulfur.  Seven months would pass and you drove all the way to Houston to tough it out in a 200 mile one day ride.  Even though I didn't know you well, I am So glad I got to be a part of those experiences with you.  You will be missed James. Hugs
