

NEW IBERIA –Memorial Services will be conducted for Janet Hebert Stevens, age 67, at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Mario Romero officiating. Inurnment will follow at Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am Thursday until time of service.
A native of New Orleans and resident of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Stevens passed away at 10:29 am on, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Baton Rouge General.
Janet was a 1967 graduate of Mount Carmel Academy, New Iberia and a 1970 graduate of LSU. She was an avid Tiger fan who bled purple and gold. She had a passion for LSU football games. She would never leave a game early, no matter what. She enjoyed cross stitching and quilting. She was the President of the Embroiders Guild of America, Baton Rouge Chapter and also belonged to several other quilting guilds. She was a former medical technician and teacher. Her true love and devotion was to her husband, son, daughter in law and two grandchildren whom she adored dearly.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, John David Stevens of Baton Rouge; one son, Scott Patrick Stevens and wife Mae of Prairieville and two grandchildren, Magdalynn Ellen Stevens and Lucas Foch Stevens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Foch Hebert and Mildred LeCompte Hebert.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to, Congregation of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, P.O. Box 1160, Lacombe, LA 70445-1160.
