Joyce David Romero

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Joyce Romero, the former Joyce David, age 81, at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Holy Family Chapel with Deacon Wade Broussard officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Monday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Tuesday until the time of services.

A native of Abbeville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Romero passed away peacefully at 5:30 pm on Saturday June 13, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Romero was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed watching any sporting events that were playing and had a special love for the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. Every year during the summer months, Joyce could often be found playing softball. Mrs. Romero enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and had a special love for her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all those she knew and loved.

She is survived by her two sons, Larry Romero and wife Melanie and Charles Randal Romero and wife Tina; daughters-in- law, Susan Romero and Lory Romero; grandchildren, Lacey Mestayer, Katie Romero, Leslie Romero, Justin Romero, Trent Romero, Rory Romero, John Randles, Jr., James Randles, and Jacob Randles; and many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Willis Romero; sons, Michael J. Romero and Darren Romero; parents, Oscar and Laura Hebert David; and brother, Francis David.

Pallbearers will be Brian Menard, Kurt Menard, Trent Romero, Rory Romero, Justin Romero, and Terry Mestayer.
