Born on April 17, 1944, in Loreauville, Louisiana to the late John Sonnier, Sr. and Marie Broussard Sonnier.
Judy's life was filled with warmth, kindness, and an unshakable love for her family. She created a home where everyone felt welcome and cherished, and her presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.
Judy found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved being outdoors, especially when she could watch and feed the birds — a favorite pastime that brought her both peace and wonder. Her family fondly remembers her incredible cooking, particularly her famous carrot rice dressing and the bread pudding that no one could quite replicate.
A good cup of coffee and time spent visiting with her loved ones were among her most treasured moments. Whether gathered around the kitchen table or sitting on the porch, those conversations and shared laughs with family were what she held closest to her heart.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include two daughters, Connie Dore and husband Terry; Amy Davis and husband Alberia “AJ”; one son, Allen Douet, Jr. and wife Leslie; five grandchildren, Jessi Moresi and husband Colby; Breanna James, Amber LaBiche and husband Cameron, Beau Buteaux and Celeste Dore; one great grandchild, Tucker Moresi; one sister, Linda S. Blanchard and her sister in law, Sue Sonnier.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter, Celeste Douet, one brother, John Sonnier, Jr. and Allen Douet, Sr.
