A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Junius passed away peacefully Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 15, 1932 to the late Nora and Edmae Touchet Romero, Junius was one of two children. He began work as a crane operator for the City of New Iberia when he was a young man and continued working for the city until his retirement. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He survived by his loving wife of 70 years Effie Duhon Romero; children Leroy Romero and wife Brenda Romero of Coteau, Douglas Romero and wife Melba Romero of New Iberia, Linda Good of New Iberia, Brenda Choate and husband John Choate of Coteau, and Connie Chataignier and husband Jude Chataignier of New Iberia; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.
