NEW IBERIA - Keifer Michael Maturin, age 21, of Youngsville, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Keifer was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Michael "M.J." Collins Maturin and Chris Maturin, Sr.
Keifer loved playing video games, listening to music, and spending time with his friends and family. He was creative at heart, often drawing and making his own tunes in his homemade studio—a simple closet that became his sanctuary for music. Above all, Keifer adored his son, Ellis, and cherished every moment spent with him.
Keifer is survived by his beloved son, Ellis David Arispe; his father, Chris Maturin, Sr.; his mother, Michael "M.J." Collins Maturin; his brothers, Chris Phillips and Chris Maturin, Jr.; his sisters, Krystin Bayard (Nicole) and Brittany Maturin; and his maternal grandfather, Bart Collins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wilson and Alizia Maturin; his maternal grandmother, and Cindy Braden; and his uncles, Alton, Johnny, Ulysses, and Keith.
Keifer also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
A celebration of life gathering for Keifer will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Evangeline Funeral Home, 314 E Saint Peter St, New Iberia, Louisiana. He will be laid to rest privately at a later date.
