NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Robert McClain, the former Laura Davidson, age 70, at 10:00 am Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Rev. Roland Fontenot officiating. Interment will be held privately at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Tuesday until service time.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Loreauville, Mrs. McClain passed away at 7:27 am on, Thursday, October 6, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. McClain enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by four daughters, Gena Walker and husband David of Doyline, LA; Patty McClain and Warren Picard of New Iberia; Amy McClain of Tacoma, WA and Amanda McClain Hebert and husband Kim of Loreauville; three sons, Charles McClain of Alexandria; Robert Lee McClain, Sr. of New Iberia and Will T. McClain of Ocean Springs, MS; eighteen grandchildren, Eli Walker, Robert McClain, Jr., Bryce McClain, Brayleigh McClain, Braedon McClain, Megan Busby, Joshua Busby, Shelbie Bourque, Victoria Bourque, Hannah Bourque, Brock McClain, Mackenzie McClain, Lacie Charles, Emily Pelous, Michelle Montoya, Kim Michael Hebert, Colin Hebert and Emma Hebert; ten great grandchildren,; three sisters, Phyllis Boutte of Coteau, Brenda Gaspard and Alida Mae Martin both of New Iberia and three brothers, Alphonse Breaux of Youngsville, Dennis Breaux and Yogi Breaux both of New Iberia and her sweetie, Harry Bayard of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McClain; parents, Benny and Isabelle Leonard Davidson; one sister, Anna Rawlins and one brother, David Breaux.
