

NEW IBERIA – A Rite of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Lindsey Matthew Hebert, Sr., age 83, at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Holy Family Chapel with Deacon Wade Broussard as celebrant. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 am until the service time.
A native of Gueydan and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Hebert passed away on December 26, 2015 at Iberia Manor South Nursing Home.
Sonny, as he was better known, was a kind and caring man. He served his country in the United States Air force from 1948 to 1949. Mr. Hebert later went on to help start Dixie Oil Tools and LMK. Sonny had a love for cutting horses. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Milliman Hebert; two sons, Donald Gail Hebert and wife Susan of New Iberia and Lindsey “Skipper” Hebert, Jr. and wife Karen of Sweeney, Tx; one daughter, Dayna Hebert Broussard and husband Al Michael of New Iberia; one brother, Nathan Hebert; two sisters, Theresa Couvillian and Dell Sarvaunt; nine grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his two sons, Ronald Dale Hebert, Sr. and Kevin David Hebert; parents, Emile and Emily LeMaire Hebert; two brothers, Toby Hebert and Remi “Beco” Hebert; and two sisters, Bertha Broussard and Bernice Mouton.
Pallbearers will be Donald Hebert, Lindsey “Skipper” Hebert, Jr., Marcus Hebert, Dustin Bergeron, Chris Hebert, and Al Broussard.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Nathan Hebert, Ross Hebert, Lindsey “Smokey” Hebert, III, and Ronald Hebert, Jr.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Robert Hankenhof, the staff of Hearts of Hospice, and the staff of Iberia Manor South.
