A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather whose life was marked by kindness, intelligence, and dedication to his family and community. He passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family at the age of 94.
Born on March 23, 1931, in New Iberia, LA to the late Cletus and Laure Comeaux Landry. After graduating from LSU, Lynn proudly served his country as an officer in the United States Air Force. His military service embodied the values of integrity, commitment, and excellence. Following his time in the Air Force, Lynn brought the same spirit of leadership to his professional career. As Executive Vice President of Evangeline Life Insurance and Evangeline Funeral Home until 1986, he was known for his unwavering compassion, mentorship, and ability to bring out the best in others. His leadership helped shape the culture of the organizations he served, leaving a legacy that continues to resonate.
Beyond his professional life, Lynn was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman, excelling in competitive bass and tarpon fishing. He also enjoyed hunting, golf, tennis, and bowling. He won awards for his stunning photography. Always eager to embrace innovation, he was among the first to adopt new computer technology, winning awards for computer-enhanced photography way ahead of the curve.
Lynn’s greatest joy was providing for his beloved wife, Suzanne, and their children. He always insisted that the family stay together, resulting in the Landry compound in New Iberia, where countless memories were made. Suzanne had a deep love of time spent at the beach, the sound of the waves and her toes in the sand. They shared that love with their kids and grandkids. His devotion to her was constant and evident in the life they built side by side.
Those who knew him will remember his warmth, quiet strength, and deep sense of loyalty to family and friends. His presence will be greatly missed, but his values and memories will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 73 years, Suzanne Delcambre Landry; his children, David Landry and wife Mary; Daina Fox and husband Michel; Patrice LeBlanc and husband Mark and Patrick Landry and wife Debbie; seven grandchildren, Ryan Landry; Heather Ware and husband Tim; Chris Fox and wife Cassie; Brittany Fox and fiancé Chase Robinson; Dylan LeBlanc and fiancé Meghan Robicheaux; Jeremy Landry and wife Laila and Becka Gerhart and husband Anthony and nine great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Landry; one son, Kyle Landry; one grandson, Joshua Kyle LeBlanc and two sisters, Laura Lee Norris and Jewella Davis.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Fr. William C. Blanda will officiate. Lynn will be laid to rest at Holy Family Cemetery with full military service by the Acadiana Veteran’s Honor Guard.
