Mae Aucoin Delahoussaye

NEW IBERIA - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Mae Aucoin Delahoussaye, age 92, at 11:00 am Monday, February14, 2011 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Fr. Ed Degeyter will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Delcambre.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Monday from 9:00 am until 10:30 am.

A native of Delcambre and resident of Broussard, Mrs. Delahoussaye passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Iberia Rehab Hospital.

Survivors include her daughters, Margie D. Vincent and husband Richard, and Genevieve “Jan” Geoffroy and husband Lloyd, Jr.; four grandchildren, Rebecca Rushing, and Gordon, Eric, and Charles Geoffroy; 12 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; and her sister, Mavely Bouillioin of Erath.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy A. Delahoussaye; parents, Alexis and Aline Aucoin; brother, Essay Aucoin; and son-in-law, Carroll Geoffroy.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gordon, Eric, Tyler, and Alex Geoffroy, Randy Rushing, and Kermit Bouillioin.
