

LYDIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Elmore Landry, the former Mildred Segura, age 87, Mass time pending, on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Rhonda Jolivette Tarver will sing for the Mass accompanied by Genie Gulotta Paille, organist. Mrs. Landry will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with the Rosary being recited at 6:30 pm. Visiting hours will resume on Thursday from 8:00 am until the service time.
Mrs. Landry passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Iberia Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 29, 1929 to the late Jean Robin & Marie Elise Segura, Mildred was one of thirteen children. She enjoyed shopping, watching soap operas, and tending to her flower gardens. Mildred loved her family with all of her heart and cherished the time spent with them, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and beloved cat, Freya. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her three children, Susan Landry Ashford and husband John Russell of Patoutville, Robyn Landry Bonin of Patoutville, and Owen Landry and wife Brenda of Lydia; five grandchildren, Chelsea Eve Landry & Fiancé Marc Villante, Lindsey Paul Ashford, Meagan Elise Bonin, Christopher Paul Landry and wife Tomeka, and Ron Anthony Landry and wife Gabriella; and five great grandchildren, Blaise Ashford, Brody Landry, Rylie Landry, Landon Landry, and Zoie Landry.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmore Joseph Landry; seven brothers, Lee, Orphie, Robert, Clet, Allen, Lloyd, and Henry Segura; and five sisters, Mabel Ault, Vernice Babineaux, Alma Stroud, Olga Greig, and Enola Segura.
Pallbearers will be Owen Landry, Ron Landry, John Russell Ashford, Lindsey Paul Ashford, and Kirk Segura. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Landry, Meagan Bonin, Zoie Landry, and Blaise Ashford.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to AAA Home Health, Dr. Paul Gulotta, and to the nursing staff at Iberia Medical Center for their dedication and kindness.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family to assist with expenses.
