

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Olivia Laviolette Broussard, age 76, at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Marcellus Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Wednesday until service time.
A native of St. Martinville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Broussard passed away at 4:40 pm on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Broussard was a devoted wife and caregiver to many people for many years. She loved gardening, birds, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Broussard especially enjoyed going to China, “casinos.” She was a hard worker all of her life and will deeply missed by all.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mandy Broussard for her caring and having a special place in her heart for Ms. Olivia.
She is survived by her sons; Patrick Broussard and wife Melissa of New Iberia, Ricky Broussard and wife Laticia of New Iberia, daughter; Patsy Borel and husband Brent of New Iberia, brothers; Bernard Laviolette and wife Melba of St. Martinville, Adam Laviolette, Jr. and wife Joann of St. Martinville, sisters; Lydia Gary of Jeanerette, Bernice Gary of Jeanerette, Mildred Geoffroy of Erath, Ruby Dore and husband Wayne of New Iberia, grandchildren; Jonathan Broussard, Brandy Simmons, Josh Paul Broussard, Carolyn Broussard, Lance Leleux, Trent Broussard, E.J. Broussard, great-grandchildren; Chloe Broussard, Emaleigh Broussard, Aaron Derouen and Cameron Derouen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Broussard, parents, Adam and Olive Laviolette, Sr., brother, Gilbert Laviolette and sister Gertrude Laviolette.
Pallbearers will be Errol Gary, David Gary, Chad Broussard, Jonathan Broussard, Lance Leleux, Josh Broussard, Trent Broussard and E.J. Broussard.
