NEW IBERIA – Mr. Ory Pierre Hebert, age 81, bid his last farewell to ALL the pretty Ladies as he slipped peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday December 19, 2015 at Evangeline Oaks Nursing Home in Carencro, LA. He has gone to be reunited with “the Love of his Life” Gypsy. He was a native of Abbeville, but called New Iberia home.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Rosehill Cemetery with Rev. Ed Downs officiating. Interment will immediately follow with Military Honors.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 am until 1:45 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Hebert was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps who served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict. He wore many hats during his lifetime, from Cab Driver, Truck Driver to Insurance Salesman but most important of all, Sidekick to his beloved Gypsy. He was always quick with a smile and a joke, making many friends along the way. He loved to laugh and worked tirelessly to spread that joy everywhere he went. His signature move was to stick his tongue out and make a “raspberry” at everyone! This of course made everyone smile and love him even more.
He will be missed by many especially his step son; Segis Meyers, Jr, his wife Sylvia and their children of Douglasville, GA. as well as a great-nephew and caregiver, Terry Goodwin and Joe Cain of Carencro, LA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gypsy Ward Hebert and his parents, Acarde and Margaret Gaspard Hebert.
